How Do You Stay Awake?

CC's picture

Well here comes another Z99 Radiothon. By the time we start till the time we finish we usually average 45 hours without sleep, almost two days. And the number one question is how do you stay awake?

We usually just feed off the energy of the event itself, with people,phones,interviews,donations,well-wishers. The hardest time is usually 4am to 7am Friday morning. Thats when we hit the wall...we begin to see things that are not there,we hit sleep deprevation. You feel like you are hungover, you're dizzy, things seem to be turned around, your mind is telling your body to shut down, but you have to fight through it.

It is that time we really struggle, that we find the radiothon difficult, then as people come to the Cornwall and the excitment picks up again, we get caught up in the fevered frenzy,we hit walls thoughout the afternoon, fading in and out, trying to stay focused but it gets difficult.

We don't take no-doze, we don't take caffine pills, we just get our adrenaline rush off the people and the event. So we thank all of you who stop by, who call us,who make donations...Your support, your time and your encouragement help to keep us going for the 36 hours....Thanks for your support and remember to tell your friends to call 522-KIDS and help the Z99 Radiothon.
