"STAY"cation or vacation

The "in" thing to do now,with gas prices what they are,is the "stay"cation. A vacation where you don't go anywhere. To me thats a weekend!!. Vacation, from the root word vacate. to leave,to go away. A "Stay"cation would mean that you'd end doing things around the house, your wife would be bored and we know when your wife gets bored that means work for you!!
You work hard, you need time to enjoy life, to get away from it all, you need other stimulus. Does a "stay"cation offer that? No doubt there is alot to do in your own backyard but it is still your own backyard. I'd rather pay the extra cash and get away. How about you the vacaton or the "stay"cation...And what would you do if you take a "stay"cation?
i have taken staycations
i have taken staycations always. never seemed to be able to get away. i now have it down to a science.
little beer fridge in the porch, clam, canadian, and chardonnay.
little lights inside the umbrella on the deck, (for the starry nights outdoors). kiddie pool filled up also on the deck, for lounging in or just dippin a toe or 2. (no, actual kiddies are NOT allowed in MY pool). BBQ red hot and ready for grillin those awesome 2 inch steaks i have marinating in the fridge... a couple of phone calls...and a few friends drop by with potato salad and maybe some slaw... ahhhhh yeah, that's the stuff.
what could be better? cold bevvies, relaxin poolside, great food, good company, and even my own bed to sleep in after a couple too many bevvies... i don't even have to drive anywhere, I GOT IT ALL!
