Kitty Cafe

Are you a cat lover who can't own a kitty of your own? Would being around kitties help you destress? Then get your butt to the "Cat Cafe"! Don't worry dog lovers, I'll try to find a cafe of your own too, but in the meantime...meow! :)

There is a new type of cafe popping up all over Tokyo, Japan...cat cafes. There are many kitty lovers in Japan (Tokyo specfically) however many of them live in very small apartments and they are not allowed to have cats and so the cat cafe was born!

They're cafes where people pay between $8 to $12 an hour to drink tea and hang out with cats. Each cafe has between 10 and 13 cats that you can hang outwith however there are rules.

You have to take your shoes off, you can't bother sleeping cats, there's a strict "no tail-pulling" rule (my favorite) and you have to let the cat do whatever it wants . . . even if the cat wants to drink your tea.

There are already three cat cafes open in Tokyo, but they're getting more and more popular because so many Japanese people are stressed out and they believe that cats will relieve their stress.

Check out the photos, it's a really cool cafe. If we had one in Regina you'd probably see me there everyday with a cappucino and a kitty! I'd love to see a puppy cafe too!

If you are able to give a kitty a home and not have to head to a "cat cafe", please check out the Regina Humane Society. The animals there, dogs and cats need a home, you can check it out here.

In the meantime, here's some pics of the cat cafe and vids of kitties! If you're having a blah day, this is bound to put a smile on your face!

And the vids!!!

Super cute kitties, my friend B-Rad sent me this one:
