Although I’m not a HUGE fan of “The View” it seems to be the only thing on tv while I’m getting ready for work.  The other morning I heard Sherri tell the girls that she was at a club trying to meet men but was unsuccessful because she gave away secrets about herself in casual conversation. So when in a relationship is it appropriate to give up the personal goods?

Do you have $500,000 in credit card debt? Are you hiding an std? How about 4 kids with different dads? Now either of these scenarios could easily be a deal-breaker in a relationship so I have to wonder. What is the BEST time to break your deepest, darkest secret to someone you're hoping to have sex with?

Well CNN came across an article dealing with just that topic and here are some tips on how to break your dirty secret to your new conquest:

#1.) Don't reveal information too soon . . . or too late.

For example if a little kink helps you get in the mood, it might not be a great idea to mention that on the first date. Wait until you're comfortable with the person, but break the news BEFORE you get naked with them. That way, they're more likely to hear you out since they already like you but they won't feel betrayed, like you tricked them into doing the dirty.

#2.) Give some context before you drop the bomb.

For example before telling your new guy that you are going through a crazy custody battle for your 4 kids, you have diabetes and a border line drinking problem you may want to give him a heads up. If you tell him that you’re a little nervous about revealing something personal because it's ruined your relationships, then he’s prepared to hear something heavy.

This will also prevent someone from running for the door before listening to you first. Which may save the relationship. And guys don’t think that we don’t know that you’ve got dirty laundry too…

Have you ever ruined a relationship by revealing the intimates to early? Or too late?

Discuss. ;)
