Don't you hate it when you're at a movie or play and someones cell phone starts ringing?  You're not alone.  Hugh Jackman and Daniel Craig don't like it either.  The two movie stars are in a theatrical production called "A Steady Rain" and they stopped their show the other night to rag on some poor theatre goer whose phone started ringing during the performance... 

The lesson to be learned...shut of your phone of you might have to mess with Wolverine and James Bond.

In other entertainment news....Mel Gibson has a nice beaver.

This is the controversial new ad for breast cancer...it's gained a lot of attention for a couple of reasons:

I think it's a great ad...it raises awareness in a fun and attention grabbing way.  What do you think? Is this a brilliant promotion or is it a bust (sorry), a mockery, sending the wrong message?

Women love vampires.  Thanks to Twilight books and movies and tv shows like "True Blood" and "The Vampire Diaries", vampires are hotter and sexier than ever. 

And I hate it.  What happened to the scary, old-fashioned, blood-sucking vampires like Nosferatu and Count Dracula?  Those were the real vampires of myth and legend...they even looked evil...

But today's modern vampire has more in common with Zac Effron than Bela Legosi.  Instead of wreaking havic and draining their helpless victims of blood, the modern vampire is looking for emotional attachement and cares about womens feelings.  Puke!  I think the modern vampire is a wuss.  And probably a vegaterian.  

Edward from Twilight looks so wimpy I think the "Count" from Seasame Street could kick his butt.  What are your thoughts?  Is the demasculinization of vampires a bad thing or is the "sexy" vampire makeover a good thing?

We all know someone whose had a big baby....usually in the 10 to 12 lb range, right?  Well, that's nothing compared to a baby boy born in Indonesia.  The baby was born via c-section and weighed in at a whopping 19.2 pounds!!!

Both mom and baby are doing fine.  Their doctor says the baby was likely so large because of the mother's diabetes.  The doctor adds that the baby boy (no name yet) has a "strong appetite, every minute, it's almost non-stop feeding".

The baby not only weighed close to twenty pounds but was over two feet long!  That's not a baby, that's a first grader!

Today on Oprah, MacKenzie Phillips (former star of "One Day At A Time") drops a big bomb...she says she had a sexual relationship with her father, John Phillips of the 60's band the Mama And Papas.

She tells Oprah, "On the eve of my wedding (to Rolling Stones entourage memberJeff Sessler), my father showed up, determined to stop it.  I had tons of pills, and dad had tons of everything too.  Eventually I passed out on dad's bed.  I woke up that night from a blackout to find myself having sex with my own father."

MacKenzie also reveals that her incestuous relationship turned consensual and continued for some time.

Wow.  Huge shocker.  I knew that John Phillips was a messed up drug addict who got his daughter hooked on drugs, but I had no idea things were that weird, disturbing and disgusting.

I am curious as to why MacKenzie Phillips is revealling this on Oprah.  I can understand her wanting to share that kind of info with a phsyciatrist, not a talk show host.  Oh, wait a minute...she has a book to sell.  Now it all makes sense!  Don't get me wrong, what she's been through is horrible, but should these kind of stories be shared on Oprah with the intent to make millions from book sales?  What do you think?

A 19-year old woman is looking for roadside forgivness from her fiance.  An Ohio woman named Jess Duttry cheated on her fiance but felt soooo bad about it that she eventually came clean a year after he proposed to her.

Jess has been standing by a busy intersection in her hometown holding a dsign that reads: "I cheated.  Honk if I deserve a second chance."  The back of the sign says, "I honestly love him".

Jess says she plans to stand on the corner for as long as it takes to get her man back.

What do you think...does she deserve a second chance?  Would you "honk" in support of Jess?  She was honest (eventually) and admitted her mistake (in public no less).  Should her fiance take her back or should he kick her to the curb?

I took my 4-year-old son Jake to the Riders game yesterday.  He LOVED it.  We were in Section 28 (shoutout!) and had a great time watching Gainer, the cheerleaders, the fireworks, oh yeah...and the game.  Jake loved the crowd reaction everytime the Riders moved the ball or scored...he was screaming "Go Riders"! and high-fiving all the people around him.  He was, however, a little disappointed that the Riders lost after leading the Eskinos most of the game.  I told him to get used to it...LOL.  The highlight of the game for Jake was seeing his Auntie Andrea on the big Jumbo-tron.  The Rider/Eskimo rematch goes Sat. at 4pm on TSN.  Go Riders!

After the game I watched the Emmy's...otherwise known as the "30 Rock" Awards.  I thought it was pretty enertaining and Neil (Doogie Howser) Patrick Harris was a great host.  A couple of cool Canadian moments...Sarah MacLachlan sang "I Will Remember You" in tribute to celebs who passed away this year and Michael J. Fox appeared as a presenter.  All-in-all, not bad as far as award shows go.  But, I still want my three and a half hours back.

I'm looking forward to TV tonight.  It's the return of my favourite show, House.  It's the 2-hour season premiere as House spends some quality time in an insane asylum (I know the feeling...look who I work with!  I'm kidding...or am I?).  Also tonight, US Prez Barrack Obama is on Letterman and it's the premiere of "Dancing With The No-Stars".  Happy viewing! 

Two big movies opening this weekend.  It's chick-flick vs. teen horror.  Jennifer vs. Jennifer.

First, the tear-jerking, romantic comedy "Love Happens" starring Jennifer Aniston and Aaron Eckhart.  Sounds like a typical Aniston movie...love, loss and laughter. 

She always has a movie out but none of them have ever been big blockbusters (remember "He's Just Not That Into You", "The Break-Up" or "Along Came Polly"?  I didn't think so.).  Will that change with "Love Happens" or is Jennifer Aniston destined to be famous for being dumped by Brad Pitt?

And then there's "Jennifer's Body" starring uber-sexy "Transformers" girl, Megan Fox.  She plays a cheerleader with the perfect life who becomes the girl from hell when she gets possessed and begins killing and eating boys in a small town.  I hate it when that happens.

Who's gonna win the battle at the Box Office this weekend?  Which do you prefer...Jennifer Aniston or "Jennifer's Body" (sorry but "Jennifer Aniston's Body" is not an option.)? 

As much as I hate horror movies, I dislike chick-flicks even more.  I say "Jennifer's Body" is gonna be #1 (guys might show up in droves to check out the much-hyped  girl-on-girl kissing scene).

Here's a totally superficial question for you...who's hotter?

A shout out to Terry Renwick and the staff at Regina Big Brothers for hosting another stellar "Dinner & Auction" last night.  I was honored to MC again this year.  Great turnout and a great evening.  Award winning journalist Peter C. Newman gave a terrific speech and a whole bunch of money was raised for the Big Brothers program.  Ken McDonald from Supreme Auction Services hosted the Live Auction.  Man, that guy is one fast talker...and never once did his lips leave his face!  All in all, an amazing night...thanks to all the staff and volunteers!  I look forward to it again next year.

And TV alert!  Tonight Paula (I Love Vodka And Vicodin) Abdul hosts VH1's Diva's special and it's the return of one of my favourite comedies...the season premiere of The Office.
