If you get invited to a wedding but are unable to attend, are you still expected to send a wedding gift?

POLL

No matter what, you should still send them a gift. How would you like if someone did that to you on your big day. Also, I'm sure that there mind isnt all on the presents, but on the fact that they just or will be getting married.

BUY THEM A GIFT REGARDLESS ! :)

Polite

You know what?

It is polite to Awknowlage them on such a special day. I wouldn't say go out and buy a gift that was registered on the list, however I wouldd definatly say get them a gift card to a store that they can get what they want at, likwea Linens store or applience store or even a a Home renovation store. You know? I mean you don't have to go and buy them a blender just because you missed the wedding. That way you can put some extra thought into a nice typed out card or letter to go along with the gift. I know that the age old saying, "It's the thought that counts" is a little bit cheesey, but you know what. I wouldhave loved to get nice typed letters of advice and compassion from those who didn't make it to my special day.
