YWCA Regina's Women of Distinction Awards program is an integral part of our commitment to supporting women in the realization of their full potential. Since 1981, the Awards Gala has recognized women whose outstanding achievements contribute to the health and future of our community and are an inspiration to others.
A YWCA Women of Distinction nominee is a woman who displays a sustained and significant contribution in her field of endeavor, whether locally, nationally or internationally.
In addition to honoring talented women who make a difference, the Gala Awards Dinner raises funds in support of YWCA programs and services.
By attending the Women of Distinction Awards Gala, you are also contributing to the YWCA Regina’s largest fundraising event:
- With the purchase of a YWCA Women of Distinction Gala ticket, you provide food for a woman or child for 18 days, an average stay at our shelters.
- With the purchase of a raffle box at the Gala event, you fund transportation for a young girl to attend YWCA Leadership Girlspace for one year
- With a bid of $300 at the Silent Auction table, you provide weekly academic support for one child for a school year through mentoring
